We exist to provide calm, fact-driven analysis of Canadian news and the global stories shaping Canada. We prioritise context and signal over noise.
Independence
Canada Today is editorially independent. We do not accept advertising, paid placements, or sponsored content. Reader support and our own resources fund our work. No external party — political, commercial, or otherwise — has influence over what we cover or how we cover it.
Sourcing & verification
- Every news report is grounded in primary sources wherever possible: official documents, statements, on-the-record interviews, or first-hand reporting.
- Information sourced from other outlets is cited and, where practical, independently verified.
- We clearly distinguish news, analysis, and opinion. Opinion pieces are labelled as such.
- Anonymous sources are used only when necessary, never for trivial claims, and only after editorial review of their reliability and motivation.
Accuracy & corrections
We work hard to get things right. When we don't, we correct the record promptly and transparently. Material corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with the date of the update. To request a correction, email contact@getcanadatoday.com.
Use of AI
Editorial judgement and final writing are performed by humans. AI tools may be used for research assistance, transcription, or structural editing, but never to fabricate quotes, sources, or facts. AI-generated imagery, when used, is labelled.
Conflicts of interest
Contributors disclose any personal, financial, or political relationships that could reasonably be perceived as a conflict with the subject of their reporting. Where a conflict exists, the contributor steps aside or the relationship is disclosed in the article.
